Carrie's designer candles are made from a wax core with layered colors of paraffin wax. After the layers of color are added, she uses potter's tools to shave portions of the wax that are then folded, twisted, and molded back into place. She has between seven and nine minutes to complete the design before the wax cools. Her long-standing interest in art and sculpture helps her create individual designs, sometimes following color recipes she has already practiced and sometimes experimenting with new ones. The finished candle is then dipped into a seal. Her candles are designed so that the shell will remain intact and can be refilled with a votive candle after the central core has melted. 

Visitors are welcome to watch Carrie as she works and explains the process and materials. Groups are welcome to come in and dip their own creations. She has entertained Girl Scout Troops and birthday parties with her demonstrations. She will also create custom personalized designs for special occasions.
